About Focused Integrated Training

Focused Integrated Training grew from my experience teaching physical education and coaching athletics. My desire to help a broad range of people reach their potential in fitness and athletics as well as day to day functional strength and endurance led me to pursue personal training and group training. The name Focused Integrated Training grew out of the focus on the individual client as well as the goals of the client and the integration of all of the fitness areas: strength, balance, endurance, flexibility, mobility and agility.

Whether you are training for an important competition or trying to lose some weight and increase energy, I will develop a program to challenge, motivate and inspire you to reach your goal and get the results.

Focused Integrated Training has twice been voted “Best Fitness Program” in the Evergreen Times Reader’s Choice Awards, including 2010:

“Without a doubt, Mike Coleman’s Focused Integrated Training members heralded the results oriented exercise maven the top-notch guru of fitness. The focus here is on the clients’ goals and fitness needs, targeting areas of weakness and developing a systematic program to improve strength, stamina, balance, coordination, and flexibility.

“Mike says that by training movements rather than individual muscles, we create a more functional level of fitness where all muscles are working efficiently, muscular balance and alignment is restored, which allows the body to move fluidly.

Why Hire a Trainer?

Many people start and stop exercise programs over and over again without really getting anywhere. Hiring a qualified, knowledgeable trainier can save you both time and money by focusing on your goals and fitness needs, developing a program that can help you accomplish those goals, and motivating you to consistently work towards achieving those goals.

Role of the Trainer:

  • To educate: to teach the why and how of proper exercise technique and movement patterns
  • To help set realistic goals
  • To design a program that specifically targets the needs of the client
  • To motivate the client to consistently work towards achieving those goals
  • To monitor progress and introduce new exercises when others have been mastered
  • To keep the exercise program fun, interesting and challenging
